TAV Liebenwalde operates a sewage treatment plant. The plant purifies domestic wastewater. With EU support, TAV Liebenwalde now recycles the sewage sludge generated during the purification process. The sludge can be used as fertiliser for agriculture, or by burning it to generate electricity and heat.
