Joint research gets at the meat of the matter
The Phytamin project has supported the western regions of Germany and Austria in developing and testing plant-based protein products. Two companies have conducted in-depth, innovative research into natural, non-chemical food production. In collaboration with local universities and research institutions, they have developed plant-protein products (e.g. sunflower protein). Thanks to this EU-funded joint research project, regional farming and food manufacturers are able to meet consumer demand for healthy alternatives to meat.
